Our first and now signature program, Amy’s Holiday Party (AHP) has served the Atlanta community since 1995. Now in its 30th year, AHP is a winter celebration serving children and families from 20+ social service agencies around Atlanta, including homeless shelters, transitional housing agencies, Title-1 academic support programs, and refugee centers. Last year, more than 900 guests attended AHP and took home more than 1,800 gifts.
Children ages 3-12 are paired with teen volunteers to enjoy the party, which allows their chaperones a chance to take a break. Hundreds of teen volunteers serve as “elves,” helping their buddies enjoy everything that the party has to offer, including:
• Selecting multiple gifts and books to take home
• Creating arts & crafts
• Participating in carnival games and dancing with a DJ
• Taking a photo with Santa
• Receiving personal care products and a meal
• And other surprises!
